I had no idea this match would become so historic but I was sitting 3rd row ringside and it blew my mind. I taped it and watched it the next day and saw myself on tv 😀
That SGT slaughter was something and could work his butt off. Iron sheik very rarely got juice. Actually I can’t recall any other times. He actually gigged the top of his head.
Other highlights of the evening: Muraco made his return. Another great Chico Santana vs Valentine match for the intercontinental title. Jesse Ventura also made his return. George the animal Steele was on the show. Andre the giant vs David Shultz. An amazing 2 out of 3 falls match for the tag titles with Adonis and Murdoch defending against the Samoans. No piper or Orndorff unfortunately. I guess they were working the B town that night. Overall a really good night and the whole show is most likely on YouTube. June 16, 1984 Madison Square Garden
Here are the full results. Looks like my memory has failed me a little bit. Orndorff was on the card and also had Bob Orton's return!
